New Year’s Resolutions for 2023

New Year’s Resolutions for 2023

It's that time of year again when we all make resolutions for the coming year. And while some people are really good at keeping them, others are not so much. If you're one of those who need help keeping your resolutions, we’ve got your back.

Lose Weight

One of the main resolutions people make is to try to lose weight. Many people want to lose the extra pounds they’ve put on over the festive period, but it can be challenging.

You must set realistic goals to stay encouraged and keep going after a few days. For example, if you want to lose a stone in one month, it will likely fail because it's too fast of a weight loss rate. Instead, set smaller goals like losing 3.5 pounds every two weeks or 7 pounds monthly.

If you find it easier to stick to a meal replacement plan, check out our range of products to keep you on track. And if you need a little boost to get you going, consider investing in some of our slimming tablets that work by blocking around 25% of the fat you eat from being absorbed. They can help to reduce calorie intake from carbohydrates, sugar, and fat, helping you lose up to 4x more weight than dieting alone.

Get into Fitness

The new year is a time for people to take stock of their lives and set new goals. Some people choose to resolve to get into fitness and lose weight in the upcoming year.

There are many ways that you can achieve your fitness goals in 2023. You can join a gym, sign up for classes like Zumba, or take an exercise class like yoga or Pilates. You could also try running outside if you live somewhere that has a pleasant outdoor environment.

You don’t have to go too intense. Start small and work your way up to more. This way, you’ll be more likely to stick to it. Don’t forget how vital sports nutrition is as you build up to more intense workouts. You may be trying to bulk up, so you’ll want to incorporate more protein into your diet. Our protein shakes and shakers are a great way to ensure you get enough nutrients.

Start a New Skincare Routine

Winter is the time when skin care becomes an important topic. The cold weather can cause dryness and flaking on the skin, leading to breakouts. To prevent this, it's important to moisturise your skin with a good lotion or cream.

It is also important to pay attention to your diet in winter. Drinking enough water will help keep your body hydrated and healthy while eating foods that are rich in omega-3 fatty acids will help keep your skin healthy and moisturised.

January 1st is a great time to begin your new skincare routine. With products for all skin types, browse our skincare lines for your new favourites.

Eat Vegan

Becoming vegan is a lifestyle change that can be difficult to make. You have to plan your meals and prepare for situations where you may not have vegan food available. Being vegan has many benefits, but it can also be challenging.
People choose to become vegan for various reasons, including animal rights or environmental concerns. Some people choose to become vegan because they believe it will improve their health.

You may not know what to eat if you're new to the lifestyle. If you decide to become vegan this January, check out our range of vegan-friendly foods and drinks, so you don’t have to worry about what you’ll munch on.

Quit Smoking

Giving up smoking can be challenging, and people frequently decide to set themselves a specific time to quit. This often coincides with the New Year, so your resolution going into 2023 may be to improve your lung (and overall) health by cutting out tobacco.

While some people can go ‘cold turkey’, others may need a little help. Check out our range of stopping smoking assistance to give yourself the best chance to quit this year.

Work on your Sleep Hygiene

For many people, sleep is the most crucial part of their day. Finding time to sleep in our busy lives can be difficult, so it’s essential to have a good sleep hygiene routine.

Sleep hygiene can be anything from your environment, the amount of light you are exposed to at night, and your diet. Many things can affect how well you get a good night’s sleep, so it’s important to know what they are and how they work together.

The first step is understanding your individual needs when it comes to sleep. Once you know this, it will be easier for you to start achieving better quality sleep by making minor changes that will make all the difference.

There are many things that you can do to improve your sleep hygiene. One of them is to avoid caffeine in the late afternoon or evening. Caffeine can stay in your system for up to 10 hours, so drinking coffee at 3pm could affect your ability to fall asleep at 10pm.

Another way to improve your sleep hygiene is by avoiding alcohol before bedtime because it can cause you to wake up in the middle of the night and disrupt your sleep cycle.

Having a relaxing bath before bed can help you wind down. BetterYou Magnesium sleep flakes provide a soothing blend of Zechstein magnesium with essential oils Lavender and chamomile to help slow sensory activity and quieten the mind in preparation for sleep.

Consider using Badger Sleep Balm. This dreamy night balm will not make you sleepy (it's not a drug); instead, it's a calming, soothing blend of essential oils to help ease you into a relaxed state of mind so sleep can come naturally.

Shop Sustainably

Sustainable shopping is buying and consuming products that are not harmful to the environment. It includes buying products made from recycled materials, using less energy to produce, and being kind to animals.

A person can shop sustainably by:

  • Buying clothes at secondhand shops
  • Buying items made of recycled material like aluminum cans or paper
  • Using reusable grocery bags for shopping instead of plastic bags
  • Using eco-friendly cleaning products
  • Avoiding single-use items and instead opting for reusable ones
  • Choosing plastic-free shampoo and conditioners

No matter how you plan to improve yourself this coming year, make sure you set realistic goals, so you have a better chance of sticking to them. We hope you have an excellent year, whatever you do.
